Happy New Year!
What a year 2022 was. It was indeed a roller coaster year for many people, with unprecedented challenges in the global and national economies of most, if not all countries.
Yet, despite the turbulence, there were some winners, even though many people lost a lot financially and otherwise.
As the year 2023 starts, truth is, the economic forecast is not very bright, especially with the recent surge in the COVID-19 cases reported in China in the last 1 week and the global travel restrictions which have started, however like 2023; there will be Winners and losers. As grim as the forecast may be, I personally believe it is a year where some people will move to new REALMS of Impact, Influence and Income.
Will you be one of these people?
I know you said yes to that, but the truth is you cannot do things as you have always done and expect different results. So what do you have to do differently this year to advance to a new REALM of Impact, Influence and Income?
Resilience
No matter what challenges come our way, let us remember to stay resilient and never give up. But you don't just become resilient when challenges appear, you build resilience for the day of challenges. Every sports champion has a daily training routine which they adhere to for years for that one match, one race, or one competition where the strength and resilience they have built over the years come to play to give them success.
How are you building your resilience?
Education
The world is evolving at unprecedented rates, and technology is advancing the human race at a pace never before imagined. In 2023, you have to Learn, Unlearn, and Relearn. You have to seek and learn how Artificial Intelligence is impacting you as a professional or your business and how to leverage this for growth and to stay ahead. Just like every successful organization understands the power of having a diverse workforce, you also have to diversify your knowledge. Stretch yourself, learn new things, DAILY.
Audacity
Be audacious in our goals and aspirations, and never be afraid to dream big. As the saying goes- reach for the stars, so if you fall, you land on the clouds. Truth is, it takes the same brain power to dream big and dream small, so why not Dare to Dream BIG?
Leverage
The most successful people in the world are masters at LEVERAGING their and other people's Money, Networks, Influence and Resources. How will you leverage your network and resources to create new opportunities and make a greater impact? You also will need to diversify your Network- Remember, your network is your networth. How will you leverage your being part of PAWEN's StartUp Africa or TechUp Africa Network to achieve Quantum Leaps this year?
Multiple Income Streams
So, I have talked about diversifying your knowledge and Network. The final thing you need to diversify is your income. This is one of the biggest lessons of 2022. Having only one or two income sources will not be sufficient if you want to succeed this year; look for ways to diversify your income streams and build financial stability for you and your family.
As we look ahead to the year ahead, I am filled with hope and inspiration by the boundless potential of our community. Together, we can achieve anything we set our minds to.
Let us embrace the new year as an opportunity to continue to grow, learn, and make a positive impact in the world.
Let us support each other, celebrate our victories, and never lose sight of the bright future that lies ahead.
